FAMILY NATURE CLUB: Risk, Safety, and Consent Policy PARTICIPATION and SUPERVISION Family Nature Club meet-ups are designed for families to explore nature together. Children must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or caregiver at all times. Caregivers are responsible for their own children’s safety and behavior during activities. HEALTH and SAFETY All participants should come prepared for outdoor conditions, including appropriate clothing, footwear, and sun or weather protection. Families are encouraged to bring water, snacks, and any personal items needed for comfort or medical needs. The Club leaders are not responsible for medical issues or emergencies; caregivers assume responsibility for their child’s health and safety. RISKS Nature-based activities carry inherent and unavoidable risks. These may include, but are not limited to, uneven or slippery terrain, exposure to sun, wind, rain, or cold, contact with plants or insects that may cause irritation, and encounters with wildlife. While activities are planned with safety in mind and leaders will provide guidance to minimize hazards, families acknowledge that participation involves a level of risk. Caregivers are responsible for assessing the suitability of the activities for their child and for taking reasonable precautions, such as wearing appropriate footwear, clothing, and sun protection. Participants are encouraged to communicate any allergies, medical conditions, or special needs to the leaders before or at the start of each session. CONSENT and PARTICIPATION By joining the Family Nature Club, participants consent to take part in outdoor activities and follow guidance provided by Club leaders. Photographs may be taken for promotional or educational purposes; families may opt out by notifying leaders in advance. BEHAVIOR and RESPECT Participants are expected to treat the environment, fellow participants, and leaders with respect. Follow safety guidance, use equipment responsibly, and model positive behavior. Disruptive or unsafe behavior may result in removal from activities. Respect for nature includes leaving areas as found and engaging responsibly with plants and wildlife. EMERGENCY PROCEDURES Club leaders will carry basic first aid supplies and will contact emergency services if necessary. Caregivers are expected to provide relevant medical information and emergency contact details upon joining activities.
