Painted Oak Nature School's tuition is designed to fund high level educational and program opportunities, to hire and retain talented faculty and staff, and to maintain a campus that will enhance the experience of all learners. Our hope is to provide as many families as possible the opportunity to experience our nature-based program and the benefits provided to its students as they prepare for the global community and all future endeavors.
Painted Oak depends solely on families paying a fair tuition. While this tuition provides so much for the school, its staff and students, we hope it also will not hinder opportunities; therefore, we are proud to set aside funds to provide tuition assistance awards that enable a diverse student body to attend PONS.
Tuition Assistance
We realize that an Independent School education is a significant investment.
Beginning in 2021, our small school became financially solvent enough to set aside $20,000 in tuition assistance. We hope to be able to offer more as we continue to grow through the upcoming years.
Awards range from 5-75% of full tuition for qualifying families.
Painted Oak utilizes a Third-Party system within our TADS Enrollment Platform. The Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS), completed online in the Student & School Services (SSS) Family Portal. The PFS gathers relevant information about your family size, income, and expenses then SSS estimates the amount you can contribute to school expenses and forwards that estimate to Painted Oak's Tuition Assistance Committee, made up of the school Leadership Team, two teachers, and two parents. The Committee uses this estimate as a starting point to determine the actual tuition assistance grant they can offer you. The next step is to filter this information through our priority criteria:

the number of years you have been a Painted Oak Nature School family

the number of children in your family attending PONS

commitment to a full-time school schedule
It’s one form per household, for one $60 fee, for any number of applicant children. Families must reapply each year.
Tuition assistance applications are due March 15, 2023 for ALL families, new and returning.
